1 Man Dead, 1 Man Injured in Duson Crash

75-year-old Donald Thibodeaux of rural Acadia Parish is now dead after his pickup truck collided with another truck driven by 38-year-old Michael Cormier Jr. of Rayne Friday morning.

Duson Police Chief Kip Judice says the fatal crash happened around 6 AM on LA Hwy 95 (Austria Road/Mire Hwy) at its intersection with Interstate 10 Westbound. Chief Judice says investigators have so far determined that Thibodeaux's truck failed to yield after getting off I-10, colliding with Cormier's truck.

Cormier is listed in serious but stable condition.

Chief Judice says neither man was wearing a seatbelt and routine toxicology tests are pending.

Louisiana State Police, Acadia Parish Coroner and the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is assisting Duson Police in the investigation.
