40-year-old Joseph Gilliam and 37-year-old Jonathan Mason, both of St. Martinville, have been arrested after deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office executed two search warrants at two different houses simultaneously on Governor Mouton Street in St. Martinville.

In addition to the approximately $20,000.00 of money found by narcotics agents, crack cocaine, marijuana, pills, synthetic cannabinoids and two stolen weapons were also found, says PIO Major Ginny Higgins.

Both men now sit in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

Gilliam faces the following charges:

  • Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine)
  • Possession of Schedule IV CDS (Clonazepam)
  • Possession of Schedule II CDS (Amphetamine)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law in a School Zone
  • Illegal Carrying of Firearms in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Illegal Proceeds Derived from Drug Transactions

Mason faces the following charges:

  • Possession of Schedule I CDS (Synthetic Cannabinoids)
  • Illegal Carrying of Firearms in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
