2017 Summer Camps Across Acadiana
Summer is right around the corner, whether it feels that way or not. With the little ones out of school and the heat turning up, one might find their plans are becoming jumbled and hectic. It’s the best time of the year for most children, but no one wants to see them stuck inside on the couch. If you’re looking for somewhere to send your kids while you’re on that cruise, working, or just looking for some peaceful solitude, we’ve got your back.
Check out our 2017 list of available summer camps. With the size and variety of our camp catalog we are willing to bet there is something for everyone. DISCOVERY COLLEGE AT SLCC – May 30th thru August 4th. Ages 12-18. $150 or less per week, covers a t-shirt, snack and beverage, and supplies. Camp experiences include sessions in science, technology, engineering, math, ACT prep, and more. For more info, visit solacc.edu/discoverycollege.
ESA SUMMER CAMPS – June 5th thru July 21st. Pre-K thru 12th grade. Experiences include athletics, arts, math, science, cooking, crafts, technology, writing and more. For more info, visit ESAcadiana.com/summer.

SOLA GYMNASTICS – May 29th thru August 4th, as well as May 26th and August 7th. Ages 5-12. Activities vary each week, including snacks. Visit solagymnastics.com/summer-camp for more info.

ST. THOMAS MORE CAMPS – Attention parents with active children: if you need something for your little sportsman/woman to do this summer, look no further. St. Thomas More will be host to many different athletic camps, as well as cheer and dance clinics. Different camps will be held from May 30th thru August 1st. WOMAN’S FOUNDATION SUMMER PROGRAMMING – The Woman’s Foundation of Lafayette offers multiple programs during the summer to moms and their children. Classes cover babysitting techniques, child obesity, puberty, and teenage life in general. Choose the right setting for your growing young man or woman. MATHNASIUM OF RIVER RANCH – See what the Mathnasium Method is all about this summer and skyrocket your child’s education with a better understanding of fundamental mathematics. CAMP BRAVE HEARTS – June 23rd. Ages 7-11. Hospice of Acadiana is offering a safe space and comfortable environment for children to express their feelings about the loss of a loved one, and have a little fun while they are at it. Go to www.hospiceacadiana.com for info and registration.
“LOVE IS” GIRLS WORKSHOP – This program is open to all girls, ages 11 to 17. The goals of the program include: changing adolescent dating violence and gender-role norms, improving peer help-giving and dating conflict-resolution skills, promoting the need for victims and perpetrators to seek help through community resources and decreasing dating abuse victimization and perpetration.
