In its 10:00 AM advisory, The National Hurricane Center will designate the area of disturbed weather in the western Caribbean as a subtropical storm. The storm has been officially named Alberto- making it the first named storm of the 2018 Hurricane season almost a week before the official start.

Advisories will be officially made at 10:00 AM central time and will continue regularly online on the National Hurricane Center website. At this point, models point to a landfall along the Gulf Coast in either Mississippi or Alabama. The main weather portion of the storm is expected to remain on the eastern side.
