Lafayette Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store on Verot School Road last night.

Corporal Karl Ratcliff says three black males suspects were armed when they went into the store and demanded money.

Ratcliff says a suspect fled before any of them got any money.

Police think one of the three fired a gun in the air while they were runniing away, but thankfully no one was hurt when they did this.

Anyone with information about what happened last night is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS(8477). The convenience store is in the 300 block of Verot School Road.
