Bicyclist Injured In Crash With Vehicle

A 25-year-old bicyclist is recovering from her injuries after getting hit by a vehicle from behind in the 1100 block of Fournerat Road near Johnson Highway on Tuesday morning .

Investigating officers in Acadia Parish say the victim was riding her bicycle eastbound when she was struck from behind by a female driver who was going the same direction. Witnesses say the victim was thrown from her bicycle and landed in a nearby ditch with the bicycle landing on top of her, causing a broken leg, as well as other possible minor injuries.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle, though authorities continue to investigate.
