Everyone in Lafayette Parish is invited to take part in Lafayette's "National Night Out" against crime.

This annual event is a way for communities to come together, talk about ways to prevent crime and get to know law enforcement officials in a relaxing setting.

Tonight's event will be held at the Martin Luther King Center which is located at 309 Cora Street.

Bring your family to enjoy food, games, display, music and other entertainment.

Kids will be able to check out displays by the Lafayette Fire Department, the Lafayette Police Departing including their Mounted Unit with the horses, the Motorcycle Unit, the LPD Command Bus and more.

During the year communities all over America gather for annual crime prevention events like this one.

The event is free.

Several other communities will also be holding events including the Cities of Broussard, Youngsville and Duson.
