Blue Mass To Honor Fallen Vermilion Police Officers, Firefighters, Military

A Blue Mass will be held tonight in Vermilion Parish to honor those police officers, firefighters, and military personnel from the parish who have died in the line of duty.

State Police Troop I spokesperson Brooks David said the Mass will allow everyone to remember those who fell while serving their community.

"It's very important [to take a moment to remember]," David said. "Some of these deputies and police officers had young children when they passed away. They didn't know that many stories about their fathers and their mothers that we do."

The Mass will be held at 6:30 p.m. at St. Therese Church in Abbeville.
