The boat launch at Butte La Rose has been closed for about three weeks and Henderson Mayor Sherbin Collette says it will remain closed until the end of November.  According to our news partners at KATC hydrilla is the culprit. Hydrilla is an invasive plant that clogs waterways and is killed by exposure to sunlight. The water level in Lake Henderson is being lowered to expose the plant and kill it. Once the plant has died water will be allowed to return to normal levels and the boat launch at Butte La Rose will reopen. McGee's Landing had closed their boat launch due to low water but has since reopened.
