Charges Reduced For Breaux Bridge Hit & Run

Jacob Ponthieux of Breaux Bridge was shown as being a suspect in parking lot 'hit and run' and turned himself in after seeing surveillance footage. According to our news partners at KATC Ponthieux was alleged to have damage another vehicle in the WalMart parking lot.

Ponthieux claims what isn't seen in the video is a shopping cart that he accidentally hit and that in turn damaged the other vehicle. His truck has a light blue paint streak where he apparently hit the shopping cart. According to Ponthieux police did not realize that a shopping cart damaged the vehicle and after he turned himself in charges were reduced.
