Chick – Fil – A Honors MIA Soldiers With ‘Missing Man Table’

The always - busy (except on Sundays) Chick - Fil - A on Ambassador Caffery made a simple but moving gesture to honor MIA servicemen and women on this Memorial Day.

KATC reports that the restaurant reserved a table as a memorial to soldiers missing in action, decorating the table with symbolic items and a sign explaining their significance.

The sign reads

This table is reserved to honor our missing comrades in arms. The tablecloth is white symbolizing the purity of the motives when answering the call to duty.

The single red rose which is displayed in a vase, reminds us of the life of each of the missing and their loved ones and friends of these Americans who keep the faith, awaiting answers.

The vase is tied with a yellow ribbon, a symbol of our continued determination to account for our missing.

A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers.

The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God.

The glass is inverted to symbolize their inability to share this evening’s toast.

The chair is empty – they are missing.”

Let us remember not only remember our service men and women who died to defend our country, but also those whose final fate is unknown, and the families that continue to hope that they will one day find the answers they seek.
