One of my favorite holiday events, and an Acadiana tradition, is Friday, Dec 4, and Saturday Dec 5, in Grand Coteau. The Schools of the Sacred Heart will hold their annual 'Christmas at Coteau' on the grounds of the beautiful and historic Academy of the Sacred Heart, and festivities are open to the public. It's 2 days of shopping, food, fun, and local history!

The Holiday Market, with over 80 vendors, is open Friday, December 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. and has a wide variety of art, jewelry, clothing, and local artisans on hand. There are also Shrine of St John Berchman, and Sacred Heart Museum tours on Saturday, an online auction, a Gourmet Luncheon, and a 'Cookies at Coteau' event for the kids.

All proceeds from Christmas at Coteau will benefit Schools of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau.
