St. Julien Park in Broussard was approved by voters in November of 2011 dedicating revenue from a half-cent sales tax to the effort. Trahan Construction was awarded the contract for Phase II with a low bid of $25,294,362.70. Trahan Construction also won the bid for Phase I of the Park.  Phase II of the park will see the completion of all baseball and soccer fields, concession stands, pavilions, walking and jogging trails ponds, landscaping and roads through the park.

Of the park Broussard City Councilman Johnnie Foco said,

This is a major investment for our city and our citizens and this council is dedicated to supporting the building and growth of our City. Without a doubt this park will be one of the finest facilities in Louisiana and draw visitors to our area every year from around the state and region for decades to come.
