First, it was Payless deciding to close Louisiana stores, now it's clothing retailer rue 21 deciding to shut down a number of stores in Louisiana and across the nation.

rue 21 is a clothing store that specializes in fashions for teens and young adults. Yesterday the retailer announced it would be shuttering some 400 outlets across the nation. Fourteen of those stores are in Louisiana.

The closest Acadiana location of rue 21 to be shut down is located in Abbeville. There will be 14 others shut down in the Greater New Orleans area plus two locations in Shreveport and another in Baton Rouge.

In its release via Facebook, there was no exact closing date mentioned for these properties. However, the company website did indicate that inventory reduction sales and clearance deals were already being offered at the affected stores.
