Did Illegal Immigrant Criminals Get Released In Louisiana?

U.S. Senator David Vitter says convicted illegals were released in two Louisiana cities in 2013, and he says it needs to stop.

“It’s absolutely vital that the administration stops granting amnesty and starts enforcing our immigration laws – and it needs to happen before any more of these criminals are released into Louisiana,” states Vitter.

Vitter says Immigrations and Customs Enforcement decided to release illegal immigrants convicted of "homicide-related" offenses that had been awaiting deportation proceedings. In response to a request from Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), ICE disclosed that it released 169 convicted illegals in all. Of the 130 zip codes that were provided by ICE, two of them are from Louisiana: Kenner and Baton Rouge, released through the South Louisiana Detention Center.

"This information proves that some of our deepest fears about the Obama administration's amnesty policies are, in fact, true," Vitter said.
