DJ Sanders Making Run At SBC Triple Crown
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun shortstop DJ Sanders is making a Sun Belt Conference Triple Crown run.
Entering play on Wednesday, Sanders, a junior from Columbus, Mississippi, Sanders has 23 homes runs and 60 runs batted in (she hit another home run and drove in three more runs on Wednesday night), which leads the league in both categories, while sitting second in batting average, at a .391.
A first-team All-Sun Belt Conference pick a season ago, Sanders is well on pace to hit approximately 30 homers, to go along with about 80 RBI’s.
She also leads the league in slugging percentage, runs scored, and total bases.
