“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which has been airing from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, has given Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about since November of 2013!

In this edition of the show, Tiffiany Decou, the “Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zack Doise with Phares’ Kitchen posed the question, "Does Lafayette really support its own?" They discussed the plight of small locally owned restaurants - how they have to compete against successful national chain restaurants, the importance of location and the importance of advertising. (By the way, if you want to join the growing list of advertisers on "The Lafayette Food Junkie Show," email brandon@kpel965.com.)

Speaking of local businesses, make sure you check out E's Kitchen, located in Parc Lafayette. They are open Sundays through the holiday season. They carry all the gadgets to make cooking fun for you and have a great selection of whiskeys, including rare bottles. Also, follow them on Facebook to see when cooking classes are, as well as online at eskitchen.com.

Tiffiany also continues her series #ballinonabudget where she gives you tips on how to save money as you fill your belly. And, of course, Tiffiany and Zack talked about local food events to keep you informed.
