What would Thanksgiving be without the iconic green bean casserole? Dorcas Reilly, the inventor of this holiday treasure, has passed away at age 92  in Haddonfield, New Jersey. In her younger years Ms Reilly was a supervisor for Campbell's home economics department. And in 1955 she whipped up a side dish with staples that a lot of Americans already had in their pantry - Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup, and canned green beans.

In 1960 Campbell's put the recipe on the back of cans of soup, and the rest is history. It was originally called 'Green Bean Bake' by this culinary trailblazer, and it remains a favorite on Thanksgiving tables across America every year. Campbell's sent out a sweet tweet commemorating Ms Reilly and her famous concoction yesterday. See it below. #RIP
