20-year-old Jessie R. Bourque of Duson has died after a 2005 International 7400 truck collided with his motorcycle shortly before 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

State Police say Bourque was riding his motorcycle westbound on LA Hwy 92 while 59-year-old Clyde Lee of Carencro was driving the truck eastbound on LA Hwy 92 near Mermentau Road. Troopers say Lee tried to make a left turn off of LA Hwy 92 onto Placide Road and pulled into the path of the motorcycle. As the two collided, Bourque was ejected.

Bourque died despite wearing a DOT approved helmet. State Police are analyzing his toxicology sample as impairment is still unknown.

Lee was cited for LRS 32:122 Vehicle turning left at intersection. Troopers say impairment was not a factor for Lee.

Troopers continue to investigate.
