Elton Man Dies From Crash Last Week

67-year-old John H. Sandlin of Elton has passed away after Louisiana State Police say he crashed his pickup truck into a ditch Thursday night.

PIO Sgt. James Anderson says Sandlin was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was charged with DWI, open alcoholic beverage container and careless operation. The crash happened on La. Highway 395 about a mile south of Elton in Jefferson Davis Parish.

Though he suffered what were at the time moderate injuries, Sandlin died today from them.
