Eunice Man Arrested For Sex With 15-Year-Old

A 22-year-old St. Landry Parish man is behind bars for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl. Authorities were called after the girl's parents came home to find Jawaun Jamel Montgomery in bed with their underage daughter this week. The suspect jumped from a window in the house, but has since been taken into custody by Eunice City Marshals.

The 15-year-old daughter told Deputies the two began "dating" in October of last year. Apparently, one of the girls siblings caught them together once before, but Montgomery allegedly threatened that sibling with a knife. That sibling never told the parents of the teen. The teen also told investigators that Montgomery knew she was underage and that she was in high school.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz responded to this arrest with a warning to other parents. “[they] need to continue to have an open dialog with their children and ask them the tough questions. Some adults prey on our youth and they can become engaged in an illegal sexual relationship which will affect them for a lifetime”.
