FEMA is awarding Lafayette Consolidated Government $1,250,000.00 in hazard mitigation grant money to finance the acquisition of eight residential properties that have suffered repetitive flood losses.

Congressman Clay Higgins issued the following statement:

“Flood mitigation and maintenance of our water management systems are top priorities for our office. We’ve secured record funding for dredging projects, and we continue to work with local leaders to address regional drainage concerns and advance flood prevention projects. Mitigation efforts like this can save taxpayers billions in American treasure and protect our communities against potential flood threats.”
