Arlington, Texas based Six Flags Over Texas has made a major change to their trademark symbols in response to recent controversy. News radio KRLD radio in Dallas covered the developing story. In an effort to focus on 'what unites us', the company changed all 6 six flags at the front gate to the stars and stripes.

The company explained the move in a statement released Friday:

"At Six Flags Over Texas we strive every single day to make people happy and to create a fun, thrilling and safe family friendly experience for our guests. We always choose to focus on celebrating the things that unite us versus those that divide us. As such, we have changed the flag displays in our park to feature American flags."
