The readers have spoken, the votes have been counted, and we've reached the final round of another Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame induction battle. This time around, the last bands standing are Foreigner and the Cars, forcing fans to choose between two of the biggest hitmakers of the '80s.

As you can see from the bracket below, both acts faced stiff competition along the way. In the semifinals, the Cars emerged triumphant with a surprising victory over Motorhead, walking away with more than 60 percent of the vote after decisively defeating Dire Straits in the opening round.

Things were a bit tighter for Foreigner, who squeaked past Cheap Trick in the semifinals with just a little more than 50 percent of the fan-cast ballots after making it through the first round by beating Peter Gabriel.

Now it's mano-a-mano for a pair of groups who helped shape the sound of the Top 40 during the '80s -- and although their sounds are decidedly different, they both bridged the gap between pop and rock by heavily incorporating synths in their arrangements, adding a radio-ready sheen to their records that produced uptempo hits like Foreigner's 'Juke Box Hero' and the Cars' 'Shake It Up' as well as prom-friendly ballads like the Cars' 'Drive' and Foreigner's 'I Want to Know What Love Is.'

So which band gets your ballot? Whoever wins this matchup, it's all up to you -- and you can cast your vote once an hour between now and when voting ends on July 31 at 11:59PM EST. The next Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame inductee will be announced on Aug. 1. Be sure to read our official rules.
