Franklin Police Searching For Escaped Inmate

Police in Franklin are searching for an inmate who escaped from a holding area of the police department earlier Sunday.

Authorities say 35-year-old Travis Colbert of Charenton was arrested Sunday just after 2:30 a.m. on a drug charge and warrants from the 16th Judicial District Court. Those warrants were issued for failing to appear in court on two counts of resisting an officer, resisting an officer by providing false information, failing to stop at a stop sign, operating a vehicle without a driver's license, failing to have his vehicle registered, improper use if registration and license, and a drug possession charge.

Colbert is described as a black man, five-foot-five tall, and weighing 150 pounds.
