People from all different sectors of Lafayette joined together last night to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony that was held for Phase One of the construction at Moncus Park on Johnston Street.

Philantropist Jim Moncus, along with other contributors, were on hand last night to talk about the first phase of the project and which developments we will begin to see take shape.

The first part of Phase One will include the creation of a pond, parking lot, a permanent structure for vendors for Saturday's Farmers' market, a miniature golf course and a dog park among other things.

While some $20 million has already been raised for the various phases of the park, officials with the board of directors are seeking another $10 million in order to complete all aspects of the park.

You can make a donation for a variety of different aspects related to the park. Click here to find out more.
