Congressman Clay Higgins is back on the campaign trail two years after winning in the 3rd District back in 2016. The former law enforcement officer capitalized on the excitement around then-candidate Donald Trump who still has two years left in his current term. He has been a reliable conservative vote on many issues, but numerous critics have questioned his support for multiple controversial spending measures. The so-called OMNIBUS spending bill is often cited by opponents who say Higgins is not living up to a key campaign promise to reign in out of control spending at the federal level.

Congressman Higgins joined Rob Kirkpatrick and Bernadette Lee and spoke directly to those critics and answer to the persistent rumor that he's eyeing a run for Governor.

The election is scheduled for November 6th and the run-off (if necessary) would be held on December 8th. We have spoken to multiple candidates since they announced their candidacy earlier this year. His main Republican challenger, Josh Guillory, spoke to us back in June shortly after announcing his candidacy.
