Interim Mayor Appointed In Grand Coteau

Grand Coteau Mayor Virginia Pierre resigned her position effective this past Friday. Pierre cited personnel issues and lack of cooperation from the town Council. Nominations for the interim position included only Shaterral Johnson and Patrick Richard who was runner up for the Mayor's seat in the last election. According to our news partner, KATC, Shaterral Johnson won the position by a three to one vote with one member abstaining.
