Jeff Davis Parish Fair Oct 7-10

Jeff Davis Parish knows how to throw a party, and all this week will be no exception, with the annual Jeff Davis Parish Fair in Jennings. This celebration includes a queen's contest, carnival rides, and parade on Friday morning. Participants from throughout the parish can  compete for awards in different categories, which include cooking, baking, art, photography and more at the Jennings Fair Grounds. Our friends at the Jeff Davis Parish 4H have a schedule of events below:

TUESDAY, October 6, 2015
8:00am to 6:00pm - Entries must be made in Fairgrounds Office (824-8181), (including poultry, rabbits, livestock, agriculture and homemaking entries)
8:00am – 6:00pm School booths may be set up
(No livestock will be permitted in the barn until Friday morning, October 4)

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2015
8:00am – 6:00pm School Booths may be set up
6:30pm - Talent show, Fairgrounds Arena

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2015
9:00am - Judging of agricultural and homemaking exhibits, and booths
8:00pm - Queen's Pageant, Fairgrounds

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2015
6:00am to 10:00am - All livestock, poultry &rabbits must be in barn
9:00am – Parade
10:00am – 12:00pm - Needlework Demonstrations, Multipurpose Building
12:00pm - Judging of Swine and Dairy
12:00pm - Judging of Sheep & Goats
12:00pm - Judging of Beef
1:00pm - Judging of Poultry and Rabbits
8:00pm – All animals other than cattle must be out of the barn
