The Governor's office released a list of several state appointments today that are soon to go into effect. They are as follows.

Jindal announced the appointment of Mike McCormic to the Board of Commissioners for the Sabine River Authority. The Board of Commissioners for the Sabine River Authority serves to regulate, manage, and maintain the waters of the Sabine River. McCormic, of is retired from the Western Geophysical Company where he previously served as Vice President of Marketing.

The Board of Directors of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation serves to approve or modify the recommendations of the president of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, including the budget and terms of major lottery procurements. The three reappointments to this board are:

  • Verge Ausberry Jr., of Baton Rouge, is the Senior Associate Athletics Director at Louisiana State University. Ausberry will be reappointed to serve as a representative of the 6th Congressional District, as required by statute.
  • Blake McCaskill, of Sulphur, is the Regional President of the West Louisiana Region of MidSouth Bank. McCaskill will be reappointed to serve as an at-large member nominated by the Louisiana Oil Marketers and Convenience Store Association, as required by statute.
  • Roy Robichaux Jr., of Belle Chasse, is the Belle Chasse Fire Chief. Robichaux will be reappointed to serve as an at-large member, as required by statute.

Jindal also announced the appointment of Keith Guidry to the South Lafourche Levee District. This district is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the levees and maintaining the levee drainage system within South Jefferson Parish on the west side of the Mississippi River. Guidry, of Cut Off, is the Vice President of Kevin Gros Consulting & Marine Services, Inc. He will be appointed to serve as a member representing Louisiana House District 54.

The next board to see a new face is the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice. Jindal has appointed J. Schuyler Marvin, of Minden, is the District Attorney for Bossier and Webster Parishes. Marvin will be appointed to serve as an at-large member having a vital concern with law enforcement and the administration of criminal justice, as required by statute.

Ronnie Falgout Jr. was reappointed to the Employment Security Board of Review which serves to assess appeal claims for unemployment insurance benefits. Falgout, of Baton Rouge,  is a corporate pilot with the Dow Chemical Company and former vice president of industrial recycling for NEN Companies.
