Governor Bobby Jindal will hold a fundraiser on January 17th to help rid Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser of $1-million in personal debt racked up during his failed bid for Lt. Governor.

Jindal didn’t publicly support either candidate in the race, which was won by incumbent Jay Dardenne. However, Political Analyst Clancy Dubos says there were doubts that Jindal truly was neutral in the race. He says Dardenne probably wasn’t surprised to learn about the fundraiser.

It will cost up to $5000 to attend the fundraiser. Dubos says it’s not unusual for a Republican Governor to help raise money and support fellow a fellow Republican.
