Lafayette City Marshal Earl Picard says his deputies served a bench warrant in the 200 block of 10th street and wound up with two arrests and numerous charges being filed.

A bench warrant for Aquila Celestine was issued for missing a probation hearing and today deputies knocked on her door repeatedly. After several minutes Celestine appeared at the front door and she was asked if anyone else was in the home. She replied "I think he left". Deputies advised anyone in the home to come out. When they received no response they entered the home and found Davieon Tray Breaux inside the bathroom.

While clearing the house deputies saw one gram marijuana in plain sight and got permission from Celestine to search the house. The search discovered a stolen .40 caliber handgun that was reported stolen in December of 2013.

Breaux was found to be a convicted felon and was wanted on multiple warrants. Celestine was also wanted on a warrant for fraud.

Celestine was booked on the fraud charge and a new charge of possession of marijuana. Breaux was booked for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and possessing a stolen firearm.

The warrants that were outstanding for Breaux included failure to appear for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and cocaine, intent to distribute and resisting arrest by unlawful use of body armor
