No one was injured this morning after two men robbed a convenience store in the 700 block of Eraste Landry Road at gunpoint.

Lafayette Police Public Information Officer Nicole Benoit reports that the clerk told officers two men, each carrying a handgun, came in around 2:25 a.m. to rob the store.

The clerk said one man demanded a pack of cigarettes and money.  The clerk turned over a pack of smokes and money; the robbers then fled on foot.

The clerk described the suspects as:

  • One of the suspects was a light complexioned slim black male, with a red cover over his face and he was wearing a dark hoody with stripes.
  • The second suspect was a black male who was wearing a dark gray hoody with lime green writing on the front and had an orange cover over his face.

Detectives want anyone with information about this crime or any other crime to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
