Lake Charles Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver While Lying Down On Highway

A Lake Charles man was killed early Saturday morning in a bizarre hit-and-run accident.

Sgt. James Anderson with State Police Troop D in Calcasieu Parish says at about 1:49 a.m. Saturday, 35-year-old Claude William Stuart was lying down in the westbound lane of La. Highway 3112 when an unknown car hit him and didn’t stop.

Stuart was pronounced dead at a local hospital, and the crash remains under investigation.
