The preseason college football polls by major publications are starting to trickle out, and the LSU Tigers are getting a lot of attention.

LSU, who went 8-4 in 2016, including a win over Louisville in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, are ranked 11th by Athlon Sports in their preseason top 25 poll.

The Tigers, who open their 2017 schedule against BYU on September 2 in the Advocare Texas Kickoff, is ranked behind only Alabama and Auburn, in terms of SEC schools.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is the publication's top-ranked team, followed by the Ohio St. Buckeyes, Florida St. Seminoles, Washington Huskies, and USC Trojans in the top 5.

Penn St., Clemson, Oklahoma, Auburn, and Michigan round out the top ten.

LSU, Wisconsin, Texas, Oklahoma St., and Georgia are at 11-15, respectively, with Florida, Stanford, Louisville, Tennessee, and Notre Dame in sports 16-20.

Finally, at 21-25, Oregon, Kansas St., Miami (Florida), USF, and Virginia Tech round out the poll.
