The lawn watering schedule from LUS and Lafayette Consolidated Government is now in effect through September 30. The Water Conservation Ordinance runs every year beginning May 1, to combat low water pressure from automated lawn watering systems and sprinklers.

The ordinance is set up for residential, commercial, and wholesale customers using automated systems. There are several exceptions, including hand watering, and soaker hoses, businesses that require water to operate, and customers using an alternate water supply, such as a pond or private wells.

  • Customers with odd-numbered home/property addresses (ending with 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
  • Customers with even-numbered home/property addresses (ending with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8) water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays
  • There is no watering on Mondays
  • The designated times for lawn watering are from midnight to 2 p.m. (for 14 hours of possible watering time each designated day)
