Here's some disturbing news out of a New York City Panera.

The manager of one of the eateries in Manhattan was captured on camera punching a female employee after she appears to slap him.

The woman was in the midst of quitting when the episode took place. According to the YouTube description:

Panera employee quit mid shift, just wasn't having it today. Threw some bag of chips on the floor, yelled, etc NBD. Manager in white shirt basically threw her out the door, she came back, and then.....this."

A person who witnessed the fight said, "I checked on her for a while after the cops left, she seemed okay, she kept saying he really got her in the ear mostly which I know stings.... She was bleeding a little, and had cuts on her hands but she seemed okay after the adrenaline wore off."

The New York Post reports, "Police sources said that the woman provoked the hulking manager, causing him to throw a "defensive swing."

Panera commented on the confrontation with a statement saying, "Today there were reports of a physical altercation between two associates at our Park Avenue South bakery-cafe. We have a zero tolerance policy for violence and worked swiftly with authorities to investigate. The associates who were determined to be involved no longer work for Panera."
