A Sunset home was the site of a drug raid that's expected to lead to other arrests.

St. Landry Sheriff spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena says detectives, working with information from Lafayette Metro Narcotics, seized about six pounds of synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm. The synthetic marijuana is estimated at about $27,000.00 in street value.

Vizena says, at this time, they are not releasing the suspect's name or the charges against him because it would interfere with the investigation. "We are confident that other arrests in connection with this investigation are possible,” St. Landry Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz added.

If you have any information about illegal drug activiy, call the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Drug Hotline at 948-0970. Vizena says all callers will remain anonymous and information will be kept confidential.
