Boyfriend Of Formerly Missing Teen Found In St. Martin Parish

UPDATE 1:50 p.m. July 18: The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Coy Borel has been arrested and charged with theft, contributing to delinquency and felony carnal knowledge.

Captain Kip Judice says he was found in St. Martin Parish and is now in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. No bond has been set. A hearing is set for Thursday.

5:27 a.m. July 18: The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department confirmed last night that Lexy Jones, a 16 year old missing since June 21, is now in custody. The teen went missing after an argument with her parents.

Her boyfriend, 23-year-old Coy Borel, who harbored the runaway teen, was still at large as of late last night. Borel, who is suspected to be in either Henderson or Cecilia in St. Martin Parish, is wanted on three charges (though deputies have not yet specified exactly what those charges are).

The Sheriff’s Department said phone contact had been made with Jones prior to taking her into custody yesterdaym and that she was “not in immediate distress.”

The Department is looking for Borel’s 1996 Red Dodge pickup truck, bearing Louisiana License Plate S785257.
