Motorcycle Accident Leaves Rider In Critical Condition

A Lafayette police officer came upon a motorcycle accident at approximately 1:15 this (Thursday) morning on Foreman Drive. Upon investigation it was learned the rider, a 20 year old man from Abbeville was traveling north on Foreman Drive, when for unknown reasons the motorcycle veered to the left side of the street and struck a mailbox ejecting the rider. The rider was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is urged to call the Lafayette Police Department.
