Opelousas Childhood Favorite Shuts Its Doors

The credits finally ran out at the Opelousas Mr. Gatti's pizza location near the Park Vista neighborhood. This was the sign on the front door at the location earlier today. The photos were submitted by a KPEL listener. The same block in Opelousas has gone through a lot of changes in the last year. Just across the street, the last Blockbuster store finally shuttered and is being turned into corporate work space. The future of the corner store location of Mr. Gatti's, which shares a parking lot with another Opelousas favorite Mama's Fried Chicken, is unclear at this time.
