Possible Phone Scam In Iberia Parish

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal wants to warn residents of Iberia Parish about a possible phone scam that has been reported to their department.

The Iberia Bureau of Investigations says they believe scammers are calling people from a Texas phone number claiming to be from the Law Office of Jacob Clark.

These scammers tell whoever picks up the phone that there is an arrest warrant out for them for an outstanding financial debt.

Deputies say these scammers then ask the victims for their social security number or even give it to them.

Investigators say never give anyone, or confirm to anyone, any of your personal information.
