A former New Orleans Saints star is now selling cannabis.

A native of San Diego, Williams has launched Real Wellness by Ricky Williams (RW), a cannabis-based wellness brand created for the health-conscious cannabis consumer.

The 40-year old Williams is selling his products in California, where voters legalized recreational marijuana last year.

The 1998 Heisman Trophy winner out of Texas, Williams was drafted by New Orleans with the 5th pick of the 1999 NFL Draft, after the Saints traded 8 draft choices to the Washington Redskins to get him.

In three seasons with the Saints, Williams rushed for 3,129 yards and 16 touchdowns, including 2001, his best season with the team, when he rushed for 1,245 yards and 6 scores.

The Saints traded Williams to the Miami Dolphins prior to the 2002 season.

On May 14, 2004 it was announced that Williams had tested positive for marijuana in December of 2003, and faced a $650,000 fine, along witha four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

In July of 2004, Williams announced his desire to retire from the NFL, before returning in 2005.

The NFL announced in February of 2006 that Williams had violated the NFL drug policy yet again, suspending him for the entire 2006 season.

Williams spent 2006 playing north of the border, for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts, before returning to the NFL, and Miami, in 2007.

After four more seasons with the Dolphins, Williams ended his career with the Baltimore Ravens in 2011.

Over 11 NFL seasons, Williams rushed for 10,009 yards and 66 touchdowns, despite missing two complete season due to suspensions.
