Football is a part of the Louisiana way of life. Almost all of us have a team that we really support somewhere in the state. Some of us have several teams that we support. Then there are people like me that pull for everybody every Friday, every Saturday, and every Sunday, and I pull even harder for any team that is playing Ole Miss.

Most of us can't afford the time for a road trip just to see one game. But, if there were two games then we could probably justify the hotel expense and our reasons for going right? If you're a fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints the universe could be lining up perfectly for you in Tampa Florida for the New Year's weekend.

We know the New Orleans Saints will be playing the Tampa Bay Crab Leg Stealers (Buccaneers) on Sunday, December 31. There is a very strong possibility that LSU could be playing in the Outback Bowl in the same stadium on New Years Day.

That makes the trip to Tampa an even more interesting proposition knowing that you will have the ability to see two great Louisiana teams and besides your tickets to the game it will only cost one extra night in your hotel.

Bowl invitations won't officially be announced until next week so the Tigers are the wild card in this. However, if LSU doesn't go to the Outback Bowl in Tampa the other bowl game most often mentioned surrounding LSU is the Citrus Bowl which is just a short drive down I-4 in Orlando.  So, that could work too.
