The New Orleans Saints return to action on Sunday afternoon, when they travel to take on the Carolina Panthers in an NFC South Division showdown.

The contest represents the second road game of the year for the Saints.

Kickoff time at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina is scheduled for noon, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420, as well as 97.3 The Dawg.

Carolina leads the all-time series, 24-20, and has won four of the last five meetings.

The two teams split a pair of games last year, with the Saints winning, 41-38, in New Orleans, and the Panthers winning, 23-20, in Charlotte.

New Orleans will be trying to avoid an 0-3 start for the third-consecutive year.

The Saints dropped to 0-2 last week, falling to the New England Patriots, 36-20, while the Panthers improved to 2-0, defeating the Buffalo Bills, 9-3.

Offensively, the Saints are averaging 19.5 points-per-game, to go along with 366.5 total yards, including 316.0 passing yards, and 70.5 rushing yards-per-game.

New Orleans is led by quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown for 647 yards and three touchdowns, along with running back Mark Ingram, who has rushed for 69 yards on 14 carries, and receiver Michael Thomas, who has caught 10 passes for 134 yards.

The Panthers are averaging 16.0 points, to go along with 271.0 total yards, including 174.5 passing yards, and 96.5 rushing yards a game.

Carolina is paced by quarterback Cam Newton, who has thrown for 399 yards and two touchdowns, along with running back Jonathan Stewart, who has rushed for 105 yards, and receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who has caught 7 passes passes for 102 yards.

Defensively, the Saints giving up an average of 32.5 points-per-game, to go along with 512.5 yards-per-game, including 388.5 passing yards and 124.0 rushing yards, while the Panthers are allowing only 3.0 points, to go along along with 196.5 total yards, including 136.5 passing yards and 60.0 rushing yards.
