The New Orleans Saints made a roster move on Wednesday.

The team placed tight end Garrett Griffin on injured reserve and resigned tight end John Phillips to take his spot on the roster.

The 30-year old Phillips, who the Saints waived last week, appeared in 8 games for the Saints last season, catching 5 passes for 32 yards.

The 6-foot-5, 251-pound Phillips has accumulated 55 receptions for 390 yards and five touchdowns over his 8-year career.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Griffin, who was dealing with a foot injury, ended the season totaling one catch for 4 yards over three games.

The Saints host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in the NFC Wild Card round of the playoffs.
