The New Orleans Saints have brought back a fairly familiar face.

New Orleans was looking for help at the receiver and kick returner spots, after placing Tommylee Lewis on injured reserve last week.

The 30-year old Tate signed with the Saints on July 31, but was later released on September 1, as part of the final roster cuts.

A native of Burlington, North Carolina, Tate played his college football at North Carolina, before being selected by the New England Patriots in the 3rd round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Tate spent two seasons (2009-2010) with the Patriots, prior to also spending time with the Cincinnati Bengals (2011-2015) and the Buffalo Bills (2016-2017).

Last season, with the Bills, Tate caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, while also serving as the main return man.

In parts of 9 NFL seasons, Tate has secured 71 catches for 1,099 yards and 7 scores.
