Preseason football came to an end Thursday night, and the Saints capped it off with a thorough 28-0 shutout victory over the L.A. Rams, putting together highlight plays in the process.

With the majority of starters sitting out, and the Saints played 3rd string quarterback Taysom and 4th stringer J.T. Barrett, fans in attendance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome weren't expecting to see a ton of highlights, but they were treated to a few.

While the Rams never reached the end zone, they threatened to in the first quarter, before second year linebacker Alex Anzalone picked off Brandon Allen, the first of four turnover forced by the New Orleans defense.

Offensively, Hill played the first half, finishing the night with 159 yards passing. 56 of those came on this deep ball to a wide open Cameron Meredith.

That set up this touchdown run by rookie 6th round pick Boston Scott.

Hill found Meredith one more time, and like the first one, it was a big play.

Rookie 5th round rookie Kamrin Moore is fighting for a roster spot, putting together a solid game on both special teams and defense, including this forced fumble.

In the end, it was backups playing backups. Guys fighting for spot on the end of the 53 man roster or practice squad.

New Orleans opens their season a week from Sunday, hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
