The New Orleans Saints waived defensive end Chris McCain on Tuesday, ending his second short stint with the team.

The 24-year old was traded to the Saints from the Miami Dolphins on August 29, in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick, before being waived just five days later, as part of the final cuts to reach the initial 53-man roster.

A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, McCain was signed to the Saints' practice squad on October 13, before joining the active roster last week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

An undrafted free agent out of California in 2014, McCain accumulated 7 tackles, including two sacks, to go along with one forced fumble in his two seasons with the Dolphins.
