Fire Destroys Two Houses In St. Martinville

Two vacant houses are a total loss and a third was damaged in a fire this afternoon on James Street on St. Martinville's southside.

Our news partner KATC, reported St. Martinville Volunteer, St. Martin Parish, Cade Volunteer, and Cathoula Volunteer Fire Departments reported to the scene around 2 p.m. and fought the blaze for an hour before squelching its flames.

Investigators have not yet determined what started the fire. No injuries were reported.
